Whitetail Hunting
Johannsen Farms Outfitting is proud to offer archery whitetail deer hunting to a very limited number of hunters. These fair chase archery deer hunts are semi-guided by fellow archery hunters who are familiar with the deer and their patterns.
For the past 11 years we have been practicing quality deer management on our farm, with the goal of harvesting only trophy class mature bucks scoring 140"+ and enough does to ensure a healthy buck to doe ratio. Over the past 4 years the rewards of our hard work and deer management has paid off as we have harvested over 11 bucks that have scored between 140"-182".
South Dakota’s archery season traditionally runs from the last weekend of September through the third week of November, with the rut usually occurring from the end of October through mid-November.
Johannsen Farms Outfitting will be offering only four hunts, if you are interested in hunting with us in 2012 please call to book your hunt right away to ensure your spot.
2012 Rates
- 5 day/6 night archery hunt $2500.*
This includes lodging, stands, blinds and help with game recovery and field dressing. If you would like to add an archery whitetail hunt to your pheasant hunt, please contact us for details and rates. All hunters need to purchase their South Dakota archery license, the cost of a non-resident license is $285, which are issued through a guaranteed lottery draw to archery applicants. * A 50% deposit is due at the time you book your hunt. This deposit is nonrefundable after June 30th.
